NWS Forecaster Discussion
980 fxus62 ktae 070104 afdtae Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Tallahassee Florida 905 PM EDT Monday Oct 6 2008 Discussion...low level moisture has made a dramatic return to the region in just a short period of time. Sunday we had a red flag event over most of our North Florida counties and today dew points are elevated in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Temperatures have increased as well. Perry had a high of 93 degrees and Tallahassee reached 91 degrees. Isolated to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developed in the moist and unstable environment. The thunderstorms have diminished but plenty of showers remain as of 01z. Will leave forecast is is showing chance probability of precipitation overnight. && Aviation...the extensive cumulus (3-5kft) and ac (7-10k) fields that developed across much of the local area Monday afternoon will linger into the middle evening. Showers and some thunderstorms developed with East Coast sea breeze impacting mainly southeast Big Bend and adjacent waters and less showers with Gulf sea breeze across Panhandle to western Big Bend should die off by middle evening. Similar to Monday morning... IFR ceilings will remain possible during pre-dawn hours into early morning. For Tuesday afternoon...expect increasing rain chances with brief MVFR ceilings/visibilities in any stronger storms. Rain chances will noticeably increase on Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the west. && Marine...so far wind and seas have stayed under headline criteria but will continue to monitor. && Tae watches/warnings/advisories... Alabama...none. Georgia...none. Florida...none. GM...none. && $$ Barry/block
