758 fxus64 kmrx 071726 afdmrx Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Morristown Tennessee 1226 PM EST Wednesday Jan 7 2009 Aviation... winds are staying quite strong and gusty due to an upper trough that is crossing the area...producing steep lapse rates and mixing stronger winds to the surface. Expect to see gusts between 30 and 40 kts at tys and tri through most of the afternoon...with gusts at cha closer to 25 kts. Wind gusts should diminish after sunset. Some showers may affect tri this evening and bring MVFR ceilings with a little snow and sleet. Will cover this with a tempo as it will be sporadic. Greater chances of snow will come late tonight/tomorrow morning at tys and tri. There is a potential for some heavy snow bursts to lower visible/ceilings to IFR...but will go as low as MVFR for now. && Mrx watches/warnings/advisories... NC...none. Tennessee...none.
