| Synopsis Tropical Storm Gustav is forecast to strengthen to a hurricane and enter the southern Gulf of Mexico on Sunday. The latest official forecast has Gustav moving northwest into the central Gulf of Mexico on Sunday and then continuing northwest into Monday. This track would generate increasing easterly winds and building swells on Sunday and continuing into early next week with hurricane conditions possible by Sunday over the coastal waters. Please refer to the latest advisories from the National Hurricane Center on Tropical Storm Gustav. |
